President John Adams is given credit for saying that every July 4th, our nation should celebrate with parades and fireworks. Mr. Adams probably didn't own a dog, or he surely would have said parades, but no fireworks.
Utah celebrates July 4th and July 24th with fireworks. Actualy, during most of July, we can hear firecrackers being set off at all hours. Dog owners know that all these loud noises drive their beloved pets crazy. If they are outdoor dogs, they jump fences or dig holes to escape.
Unfortunately, sometimes they get hit by a car or get lost. The animals at Hogle Zoo are not immune either.
Please, folks, celebrate the 4th and 24th, but leave the rest of July alone.
