(UNEDITED)Hold the phone, Jackson! A recent poll shows that 3 out of 5 Channel 2 viewers think that the 'LIST" creators are "patriots and whistle blowers" and should not be prosecuted??
OK, you red meat Conservatives out there, who's next? How about a "List" of legislators with police records? How about a "List" of Church leaders with skeletons in their closets? Upstanding citizens with tax problems or bad debts? Who in your ward is not paying a full tithing? Let's not stop there because the possibilities are endless.
Whatever your stand is on the immigration issue, the creation and dissemination of the "List" was a criminal act any way you look at it. Coming into this country without proper papers is a misdemeanor. Using your Government position to collect secure information from a Government computer on Government time and disseminating that information to the public amounts to a long list of felonies, both State and Federal.
Nobody believes that a low-level temp employee acted alone in conceiving this idea and executing it. Somebody sent that guy in to do a job
. My guess is the Three Amigos, Sandstrom, Ray, and Clark as a follow-up to their Arizona trip and a precursor to Herbert's summit. The timing is perfect. And, ironically, the State protects HIS identity.
If Mr. Twitter ("I just gave the order to execute that guy") AG Shurtleff does not throw the book at the creators, or if the U.S. Marshal doesn't, then we might as well save ourselves a lot of money on computer security and open our databases up to the Internet because our State and Federal Offices here in Utah are filled with "patriots" of either variety who will be glad to do a little more unchecked "whistle blowing" for us.
Shurtleff is waiting for Herbert to finish investigating Workforce Services? I read that as "I'm waiting for Herbert to complete his cover-up before I do my job".
