Every city in Utah except Hooper discloses its plans in the paper. Are the goings on in Hooper so ridiculous they don't want any newspaper exposure?
Hooper citizens are completely in the dark. They know more about what's going on from Yost to St. George than about their own hometown.
What's the big secret? Is the town ashamed of its performance? The city holds meetings that are not advertised and nobody has to go early to get a seat. That's when it does its best work, when there's no one around. Most people hear about a deal after it's sprung on them. All this nonsense should be made known within range of the local newspaper.
Before Hooper people knew what happened, they were put into debt for a brand new ten-wheel dump truck. And, in a hurry up deal, before people had sufficient time to act, the city locked us into the Weber Central Improvement District until all the debts are paid. That eliminates a sewer plant of our own. Instead of running our sewage downhill like Plain city, we suck and pump it uphill to Slaterville. What kind of management is this? Where did this mayor come from? He needs to be impeached before he puts us into complete ruin.
I wonder what other bizarre affairs are happening without any press?
