(UNEDITED) The Republican Party never ceases to amaze me. They are experts at least in one sense, as much as I regret giving them credit at being an expert at anything. They are experts at setting up the circumstance of any issue or situation where it's like, heads I win, tails you lose. Or no matter the outcome of a specific situation you are damned if you do and damned if you don't. And no matter how wrong they may be and no matter how much evidence you reveal that proves that they were wrong, they will never admit to it. they will continue to cover up for their wrong doings with more deception.
Can you imagine? After President Obama's speech about the final withdrawal of our combat troops from Iraq, Sen. McConnell (R) KY criticized Pres. Obama for not giving credit to George W for having started the Iraq war so he Pres. Obama was in position to be able to withdraw our troops from the Iraq war. I believe that the majority of Americans know we were lied to over and over before and after the invasion of Iraq and throughout the 8 years of the Bush/Cheney era. Then after their first 4 yrs they convinced the American people they needed to reelect them as they were the ones who could protect them from the mess that they got our country into with the Iraq war. If we had an honest election, the American people did just that.
The 8 yrs they were in office, with the unwarranted Iraq war, the huge tax breaks for the wealthiest 2% , and eliminating or cutting back on regulatory agencies and checks and balance systems, we were setup and well on our way to a total collapse of our economic system.
In the past, I tried to reveal all of this in several letters to the Standard about how we were being lead down the wrong road by Bush/Cheney and that we would suffer the consequences for their actions, but you Republicans kept beating the war drums and let the FOX News people lead you around by your nose. And I still believe it's still going on big time, as if you never seem to learn. FOX News has you believing Pres. Obama is a Muslim and that he wasn't born an American citizen. And that this whole economy mess was caused by him and former Pres. Clinton. Ask Glenn Beck, he has you believing he knows everything. He has even accused Pres. Obama of being a racist. Give me a break.
Wakeup people. Start thinking for yourselves. God has given you a brain and I believe he expects you to use it to the best of your ability. He may even hold you accountable on judgement day for failing to do so.
