Gang members portrayed as unfeeling, uncaring animals

(UNEDITED)How dare Tim Gurrister, once again, try and convict one of my sons in articles in the Standard-Examiner! (Tool of gang control). I am extremely upset and frustrated that my son, Riqo Perea has been portrayed as an unfeeling, uncaring animal time and time again. Everyone knows he was not given a fair trial and I blame that partly on Gurrister and his ignorance in convicting my son in his articles, tying Riqo to every murder or gang story he writes.

Now, he is doing the same to my other son, Marquis Lucero, who is Riqo's brother, not half-brother as stated! The "so-called" incident in the cemetery is hear-say and my son hasn't even had his day in court on this matter, yet once again here goes Gurrister making public opinion biased and unfair by printing his article as if it were fact and not just a fabrication by Anthony Prieto. And speaking of the Prieto family (not all Prietos), my condolences go out to them from my heart. And, also to the Navarez family. Has everyone forgotten there were two lives lost that night? Still, even after Ruben Prieto was convicted, what happened to that story, Gurrister? You seem to defend the Prieto family's innocence in being gang members as well. What about the drive-bys at my mother's house? And what about Mario Prieto hitting my youngest son (who is not a gang member) with a car and then jumping him while he was blacked out? And, what about the Prieto family (over 20 of them) jumping me and my daughter in the court house elevator? Over 20 peeople assaulted us and everyone of them got away! Is there a conspiracy? I truly wonder.

Out of over 500 members and over 100 criminal cases against "Trece," my two sons and Richard Tehero and Marky Mora are the only ones named in this front-page, two-page article. Come on now! I think this whole injunction is a blatant form of prejudice and injustice! All Trece members are not uneducated murderers, thieves or dope dealers. A majority are related, so how do they ban association? Many are over 18 and 21. You mean the police are going to arrest adults for being out after 11:00 p.m. and/or drinking? Which, I believe is still legal in this state. Everyone should be scared to death about this injunction! It maybe starting with Trece, but where will it end? Our prisons and jails are overcrowded and they want to put people way for not living a certain way? If a person commits a crime, they should be punished, no matter who they are or where they're from.

But if associating or being an adult out after 11:00 p.m. is a crime Lord help us all.

And, to set the record straight, this parcicular Prieto family has plenty of gang times, Gurrister! Check the gang book and if you don't have access to that, go on MySpace or Facebook! Innocent until proven guility? Not if Gurrister is the one telling the story. I will be extremely surprised if this letter is published. I pray that if it is, no one shoots our house tonight.
