'Immigration follies' editorial is off the mark

(UNEDITED) Some comments regarding the August 31 editorial "The immigration follies:"

1) Utah citizens have not viewed the debate as entertainment -- to say such is folly; 2) Enough with the race card -- if the majority of illegal immigrants are Mexican they create the racial profile; 3) Hurray for other states considering emulating Arizona's law by re-asserting states' rights -- Washington has abdicated enforcement of existing federal laws for decades, so, the constituents (states) of federalism are taking action as UNITED states; 4) The writer of the editorial refers to the possible repeal of the 14th Amendment as "silly" -- silly is better illustrated by the writer's usage of "law-abiding illegals."

It's bad enough that our taxes are spent to imprison the criminals Mexico exports to the U.S.A. by illegal immigration. Add to that the millions of tax dollars spent on services for non-citizens and it's little wonder the citizenry is saying "Enough!"
