I am a County Delegate. I've loved every step of the process. I've made the time to research each candidate. In the case of Kerry Gibson, I've searched his 6 year voting record. His voting record is evidence of his dedication to upholding the Constitution. I spoke at length with him and his wife. I attended group meetings he addressed. I've asked tough questions point blank. After speaking with some of his fellow State Legislators, it became joyfully clear he was a leader who brings people together to make important legislation pass. Cooperation is essential to success in politics. Kerry Gibson exemplifies cooperative leadership. After the county process was finished, I expressed to Kerry that I couldn't give him my support until I learned about Amy Wicks. Even though I'm registered in one party, I certainly couldn't dismiss candidates simply because they were another affiliation. I contacted Ms. Wicks. I asked candid tough questions. I attended a meeting where she spoke with a small group of us. I spoke with her fellow council-members. I searched through council meeting minutes. While I certainly found admirable aspects to her character, contradictions and a legacy of conflict left me suspicious and concerned. I've decided Kerry Gibson is the one who will listen to the voice fo the people, who will bring the many factions of our County together. He has proven working relationships with State Legislators which will bring about the growth and progress Weber County deserves. We need cooperation not more fighting.
