(UNEDITED)Many years ago, our founding fathers created a political system and process as a means to give voice and organization in addressing citizen concerns of the day. Over the years, the political process has been used and abused and seen some deterioration because of its users, but it's the one sure system and process we have in place today to help organize its citizens and address concerns. Citizens should be able to approach their local legislator and express their concerns and trust that their issues will be heard and addressed. They expect and deserve true professionalism and representation from every legislator. However, some legislators use political tactics like fear, favoritism, intimidation and coercion to get their legislation passed, regardless of whether the legislation is good for the citizens of Utah or not. (The legislators using these tactics know who they are, but you may not because these tactics are done behind closed doors--tactics, behavior, and actions all unbecoming of elected officials.) Many of these unprofessional legislators are incumbent Republicans who need to be held accountable for their actions and be voted out of office.
