Water tank construction area is an eyesore

(UNEDITED)I'm writing concerning this summers water tank construction in the foothills east of Ogden. Specifically, in regards, to the water tank construction just south of Taylor Canyon, located on private land surrounded by public lands. Has any one paid attention to what an eyesore this project has become? What was once a relatively pristine area criss crossed with hiking and biking trails is looking more and more like the face of the moon. My question is, are there any plans to restore this area to it's natural state? What are the future plans for the area? Hopefully the gravel pit motif will be temporary?

I know the aforementioned area is on private land. I think the Ogden City residents are missing a tremendous opportunity for advocating some sort of plan for securing this land and placing it in some sort of open space designation for current and future generations.

Ogden wants it identity to become associated with the outdoors. I think Ogden and the City need to become more proactive and involved protecting our foothills and open spaces. Which will allow Ogden to be recognized and celebrated for it's outdoor treasures like Taylor canyon.
