Ogden is a great place to live. Kids have so much to do with school, friend, sports, but lately, I've noticed that sports in particular is changing. I'm talking about sportmanship. We kids can hear whatever parents are saying on the sidelines. They need to have more respect for the coaches and players. Kids mainly understand sportsmanship, but parents! They are rude!
I recently had a soccer game and heard two parents talking bad about my coach. I went right up to them and told them to shut their mouths. Also, yelling at kids and harassing them? Really, parents? A five-year-old is more mature than that. Please have better sportmanship and stop being disrespectful.
In baseball games when we hear parents say: "Ey batter batter, ey batter batter...swing," it really irritates everyone. I'd have to say that soccer and football games are the worst! I've heard cussing at kids, even to the point of threatening them! That's just wrong. These are contact sports, what do parents expect?" I know that moms and dads get into the sport, but there is no call for verbal harassment of kids and teens! Parents should keep it to themselves.
I'm not saying that kids have the best sportsmanship and most respect, and that all parents are bad and disrespectrful. But, parents who tend to be a bit more rowdy and rude towards players, coaches and other parents should just chill out!
