(UNEDITED) The Amnesty Guest Worker Program - HB116 was sponsored in the Utah Senate by our own Senator Stuart Reid (Weber/Davis District 18). He has failed miserably to live up to the promise he made when he approached Weber County conservatives with the statement that he was a conservative at heart and would represent his constituency. This bill This bill welcomes all persons illegally within the United States to apply for a Utah guest worker green card before May 11, 2011 and applies to undocumented persons living in or ever having lived in Utah. It allows applicants to bring family members to Utah on a single issued green card; including children, grandchildren, parents, grandparents, siblings, uncles, aunts, their children, all spouses, and "Other similar individuals". Who clarifies "other similar" individuals?
If I were illegal, my eligible family members would total over 200 and all could take advantage of welfare, education, and all other state programs. Wow!
Employer verification is eliminated. If no driver's permit, undocumented individuals just promise not to drive. Whoopee! No punishment for any previous criminal activity. Identity fraud is not addressed, however, U.S. law mandates a social security number for employment. Does anyone see a problem with this?
