It was great to have the demolition derby in Hooper. It was fun and we believe everyone enjoyed it. We want to thank the city council who made it possible for us to have the derby and the city crew who worked the arena, dug the trench, filled the trench and prepared the arena. A big round of applause goes out to all of the supporters who attended the derby.
We wouldn't have pulled this off without the wonderful, awesome team members and their families for all their support. Mark Bingham, the ram rod, was everywhere doing everything; he is the best there is. Devin Taylor, concessions manager, was awesome. We sold almost everything. In addition, we wish to thank Kerry and Robin Miller who did the cooking of the hamburgers and hot dogs and truly wonderful cooks, Eileen Taylor and Scott Boerstra, who made and cooked the scones. Wayne and Andrea Widdison took care of the finances. Vern Wheatley and Kathryn Penrod purchased the supplies. We could not have been successful without the tireless efforts of Morgan Truman, Sharon and Rick Miles, Keith Cardon, John Wheatley, Travis and Tammy Truman, Kathryn Penrod and Lori Fielding. Cameron and Heaton Boerstra sold pop on the parade route. Zack Lamb and his friend were on the garbage detail and the park was completely free of litter when everyone left.
We wish to thank Mike VanAlfen, the promoter, plus all those who pre-sold tickets for us. Stan Thurgood provided the sound and was a great announcer.
Lastly, the moral support of Mark Wayment and Sheri Leak was very much appreciated.
