NORTH OGDEN -- A business icon in the Ogden rodeo and equestrian world, Ken Cross, 85, died last week.

The funeral has been set for Wednesday for the man credited with much of the success of Ogden Pioneer Days, the Miss Rodeo Utah and Miss Rodeo Ogden pageants and a host of local activities involving horses through the many activities his business supported.

ROY -- In a year when many municipalities are canceling their pageants, the Miss Roy pageant has bigger numbers than it has had in years with 16 competitors.

The pageant will be held at Roy High School at 7 p.m. July 30. Tickets can be bought in advance at Roy City offices, 5051 S. 1900 West at $8 for adults and $6 for youths ages 3 to 10. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $10 for adults and $8 for youths. Ages 2 and under are free.
