Mardi Gras revelry takes over New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS -- Revelers hit the streets Tuesday to celebrate Mardi Gras, lured to the French Quarter and stately oak-lined avenues by the chance to snag beads and baubles from seemingly endless parades in the final unfettered party before the somber season of Lent.

Communities throughout Top of Utah celebrate Independence Day

RIVERDALE -- Horns honked and bike bells rang as a group of children, parents and dogs waited on their bicycles for the road to clear.

They gathered for the Riverdale Pedals & Paws Children's Parade.

Some of the bikes had red, white and blue streamers woven through the spokes of the wheels. Many had balloons tied to the children's hands or directly to the bicycles.

Hill F-16s to fly over 4th parade routes

HILL AIR FORCE BASE -- Hill F-16 pilots will soar over community parades across the Wasatch Front for the 25th straight year this Fourth of July weekend.

The holiday fly-overs will kick off tonight at 8 p.m., when four F-16s from the 388th Fighter Wing will fly at the Stadium of Fire celebration in Provo.

State vet: No new cases of EHV-1

OGDEN -- The presence of equine herpes virus in horses in Utah has declined to the point that horse owners should feel free to participate in rodeos, shows, parades and other events, the state veterinarian's office states in a news release.

BOUNTIFUL -- The annual Christmas Light Parade will begin at 6 p.m. Dec. 3.

The parade route starts at 400 S. Main St., turns west at 400 North and then north at 200 West, and will end at the South Davis Recreation Center, 550 N. 200 West.
