Alleged violation may put Ogden man in prison

OGDEN — Police on Wednesday arrested a 21-year-old man accused of violating his parole from a 2010 conviction of robbing a group of people at gunpoint in Salt Lake City.

Alexander James Roberson was given parole after pleading guilty in 2010 to three counts of first-degree felony aggravated robbery, documents from 3rd District Court in Salt Lake City show.

An arrest warrant for Roberson was issued Wednesday for his alleged failure to comply with parole. Ogden police arrested him that day at his residence on the 1700 block of 20th Street, Ogden Police Lt. Tony Fox said.

Serial rapist appears before parole board

DRAPER — The hearing officer for serial rapist Jason Brett Higgins won’t be recommending his release.

Higgins, 38, has served 14 years in prison since he terrorized the Ogden area in 1996 and 1997.

Don Blanchard was the hearing officer for Higgins’ first parole hearing, held Tuesday morning.

Watts booked into jail after failing to complete pre-sentence report

FARMINGTON — Joshua Cameron Watts ended up in jail after his attorney told the judge his client did not have any transportation.

Watts, 19, of West Valley, was scheduled for a sentencing hearing Tuesday before Judge David Connors in 2nd District Court.

But because Watts had not showed up for meetings with Adult Probation and Parole to complete a court-ordered pre-sentence report, Connors did not sentence Watts on Tuesday.
