TOP TEN: Don't allow strangers to have access to your computer

If you received a call from someone who claimed to be from Microsoft, you may have been a victim of a persistent scam. Here's how it works:

So-called Microsoft reps call and say that the company has noticed computer problems. They may claim to be from Windows Helpdesk, Windows Service Center, Microsoft Tech Support, Microsoft Support, Windows Technical Department Support Group or Microsoft Research and Development Team, according to Microsoft.

Bank warns of new scam involving mass emails, calls and text messages

OGDEN -- A new twist on a phishing scam has Wells Fargo officials concerned for their customers.

The scam is nothing new, said Mark Chapman, spokesman for Utah Wells Fargo, but it is the first time scammers have attempted to use text messaging to gain account information.

FBI: Beware of phishing scams

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is warning Utahns to beware of phishing scams this holiday season.

With a phishing scam, people receive a text message, e-mail or automated phone call telling them there is a problem with their bank accounts.
