SPANISH FORK -- Authorities say a single-engine plane has crashed near the Spanish Fork-Springville Airport.
Utah County Sheriff's Sgt. Spencer Cannon tells the Daily Herald of Provo the plane crashed just before 2 p.m. on Monday in Spanish Fork, about 50 miles south of Salt Lake City.
Cannon says the pilot was injured, but was conscious and breathing. He was transported to a nearby hospital.
His name was not immediately available.
A flight instructor at the airport tells the newspaper the pilot was the only one aboard when the plane crashed.
