Dickemore named to chair committee in Farr West

FARR WEST - Councilman Lee Dickemore has been appointed chair of a committee that will review planning commission applicants. Dickemore said he would conduct the committee meetings, but would not vote on the planning commission applicants as part of the committee.

OGDEN — The Weber County Commission has approved changes to county ordinances that bring the duties of the board of adjustment in line with the rest of state.

Officials to consider BDO subdivision

OGDEN — The Ogden City Planning Commission on Wednesday will review an application for an 11-lot commercial subdivision for Business Depot Ogden.

A public meeting will begin at 5 p.m. in the City Council Chambers of the Ogden Municipal Building, 2549 Washington Blvd.

City Planner Rick Grover said the move would basically establish property lines around buildings that already have tenants in the area near 600 W. 2nd St. in the BDO.

Syracuse councilwoman, mayor stick to guns on animal ordinance meetings

SYRACUSE — Maintaining she is on solid legal ground, Councilwoman Karianne Lisonbee has refused to recuse herself from discussions about changes in the city’s animal ordinance.

In a work session Tuesday, the first-term councilwoman stuck by her guns in defending her attendance at a Feb. 21 planning commission meeting, at which she offered input on language in the city’s ordinance relating to potential abuse of animals.

Limits on outdoor storage upheld

CLEARFIELD — A decision to limit outdoor storage was upheld and ratified with a recent council approval.

SOUTH WEBER -- A proposed wind energy ordinance that would allow commercial businesses and residents to harness air power on a conditional-use basis is leisurely blowing its way through the political process.

Harrisville reorganizes planning commission

The city’s planning commission was officially reorganized at a recent city council meeting.

Councilwoman Paula Knighton was replaced with David Eckersley. Eckersley, a former alternate member of the planning commission, was appointed to serve a four-year-term as was Steve Weiss.

Dave Stephenson was appointed to replace Kathy Hohosh for a five-year-term. Tyler Malmrose is the new alternate member.

Residential facilities public hearing set

FARR WEST -- An application for a conditional-use permit for an assisted living facility on 2550 North was received by the planning commission recently.

Clearfield commission receives changes

The city’s planning commission is experiencing some changes as one of its members leaves and others are appointed to new terms.

The city council recently honored Bill Moore for his work on the commission. At the same time, the council made other appointments to the commision.

The terms of Randy Butcher and Lance Brown also expire in February. The city council approved reappointing Butcher as a member and Brown as an alternate member.

Pleasant View planning vacancies attract 14

PLEASANT VIEW -- The turnout of residents wanting to serve on the planning commission was "unbelievable," Mayor Doug Clifford said.
