SALT LAKE CITY -- Former U.S. House Majority Leader Dick Armey is endorsing one of U.S. Sen. Bob Bennett's Republican opponents.
Armey said Thursday he is endorsing Mike Lee, an attorney who is one of several Republicans challenging Bennett for the GOP nomination.
Bennett is seeking a fourth term but has been criticized by some Republicans for not being conservative enough. They contend Bennett shouldn't have voted for a bailout of the nation's financial system.
Republicans will choose their nominee at a state convention in May. If a candidate fails to garner 60 percent of delegate votes at the convention, a primary will be held in June.
