N. Ogden to let committee decide timeline for public works building

NORTH OGDEN — Discussion about a project timeline and a proposal to move forward with a June bond election to pay for a new public works facility didn’t get very far at a recent city council meeting.

Despite encouragement from Mayor Richard Harris and Councilman Brent Taylor, the council didn’t want to talk about a timeline for the public works project.

Instead, the council wants the 10-person public works committee, appointed to advise the city on a new public works facility, to develop the timeline.

Building lights to be deflected

PLEASANT VIEW -- Resident Bob Hooper, who lives near the new public works building, said the new lights flooding the public works building are causing light pollution for him and need to be toned down.

“Is there really a need for that amount of light?” Hooper asked. “It is horrible.”

Community Development Director Bruce Talbot said a deflector has been ordered to help with the problem, which will aim the lighting where it is intended — as a safety measure shining on city equipment.
