Shop at boutique, help local women

OGDEN – The community is invited to purchase women’s jewelry, scarves, aprons, ballroom dresses and lots of dress-up clothing for young boys, girls and women of all ages at the Give Me a Chance Boutique, 2620 Washington Blvd., this holiday season.

Give Me a Chance is a no-cost training program that teaches low-income women sewing, job training and life skills. Many of the items are handmade by students in Daughter of Charity Sister Maria Nguyen’s sewing class.

Profits from boutique sales will assist Nguyen in continuing the program in 2011.

Boutique hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday–Friday.

Special holiday hours in December are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays.
