SALT LAKE CITY -- The Book of Mormon has reached a publishing milestone with 150 million copies distributed.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints released the information this week on its website.
The book was first printed in 1830 and is now available fully translated in 82 languages.
Its official title is "The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Christ." It has been used by others to give the Mormon "moniker" to the LDS church and its 14 million members.
It is one of the church's four sacred texts or sacred works, along with the Holy Bible, the Doctrine and Covenants and the Pearl of Great Price.
