SOUTH ROYALTON, Vt. — A man who tried for seven years to build a gift shop and delicatessen near the Vermont birthplace of Joseph Smith now wants to sell the land to a Mormon historical society that would build a museum and hospitality center.

SOUTH OGDEN — Peaceful reflection and an opportunity for individual prayer were the central themes of a Taize Worship service held Monday as part of the Interfaith Works! annual Interfaith Week festivities.

Nineteen participants attended a quiet, candle-lit ceremony at the Pleasant Valley branch of the Weber County Library featuring simple hymns designed to be viewed as prayers and periods of silence between the hymns and spoken prayers.

Blake Whalen will speak about "Public Relations for the LDS Church."

Whalen is the general manager of The Boyer Company at Business Depot Ogden. He also is the director of the Utah Public Relations Council for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The cost of one meeting for potential members is paid for by the chapter. For other guests, there is a $12.50 charge.

For one group, though, Romney's candidacy represents a unique mix of hopes and fears, pride and apprehension. Nuns target sex trade during Super Bowl weekend

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Backed by a tougher Indiana law, a coalition of Roman Catholic nuns has stepped up efforts to curb the sex trade during this weekend's Super Bowl.

The group, which includes the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph in Cleveland, has contacted hotels in Indianapolis and its environs to be on the lookout for sex trafficking and to take steps to halt it. The effort was first reported by WKYC-TV.
