More than 20 bystanders save drowning Utah boy

GRANTSVILLE -- A 9-year-old Utah boy is recovering in a hospital after nearly drowning at Grantsville Reservoir.

The Deseret News reports more than 20 bystanders jumped into the water to save Carson Jones on Saturday.

Officials say he was pulled to shore after spending at least five minutes underwater.

He was taken to a hospital in critical condition, and a day later is eating and talking.

Carson's mother Hailey Jones says her son was lifeless when he came out of the water, and wouldn't have survived without bystanders jumping in.
