Portion of Washington Boulevard closed while sink hole is fixed

OGDEN — Utah Department of Transportation closed a portion of Washington Boulevard for the next two days.

UDOT spokesman Vic Saunders said the southbound lane is closed from 32nd Street to 34th Street as crews fix a sink hole in the road that occurred during a resurfacing project.

Motorists will be routed to Grant Avenue at 32nd Street and can connect with Washington again at 34th Street.

Watch for cyclists, road closures

OGDEN — Several road closures are scheduled in the Ogden area during the next few days as the USA Cycling Collegiate Road National Championships take place.

From 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Ogden will close downtown streets between 25th and 27th streets from Grant to Ogden Avenue.

SR-39 in canyon to close Tuesday

OGDEN -- A stretch of State Route 39 in Ogden Canyon will be closed to through traffic from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday to allow Utah Department of Transportation crews to remove concrete barriers from the Ogden River.

Clearfield road set for 10-month closure

CLEARFIELD — The State Road 193 project is slated to start in the spring, and when it does, the public will experience some major impacts.

The Utah Department of Transportation recently announced a tentative schedule for the massive reconstruction project, part of which includes a complete closure of 700 South west of State Street in Clearfield.

Piece of Riverdale Road to close for repairs

RIVERDALE — The Utah Department of Transportation will close one lane of east-bound Riverdale Road between Riverdale and Roy on Thursday as crews repair the roadway surface.

Open house set for UDOT projects

SUNSET -- The widening of 1800 North (SR-37) in Sunset and Clinton between Interstate 15 and 2000 West, a potential new interchange with Interstate 15, and a bridge over a busy railroad corridor are all concepts the Utah Department of Transportation is considering as part of an ongoing environmental study of this busy east-west highway in Davis County.

UDOT will bring these concepts and other alternatives to a public open house from 5-7 p.m. Thursday in the Sunset Room of the Sunset City Hall, 200 W. 1300 North.

SR 65 to be closed Monday for paving

State Road 65, The Big Mountain Highway, will be closed on Monday to allow crews to make permanent repairs to a slide that damaged portions of this route last winter, the Utah Department of Transportation announced Tuesday.

UDOT Region One officials advise motorists and users of SR-65 that the highway will be closed between the gate at Mile Marker 3, adjacent to the Emigration Canyon Highway turn-off, and the gate at Mile Marker 13, a mile south of the East Canyon Resort, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday. Local traffic will be allowed from the south gate as far as the summit on the Salt Lake-Morgan County line, but all other traffic will be turned back. No traffic will be allowed on the highway past the gate at Mile Marker 13.

HUNTSVILLE -- The Old Snowbasin Road has been closed by Weber County to await repairs of severe damage, the result of slides and frost heaves.

Construction on 7th Street to begin in June

OGDEN -- A $2.7 million project to improve a two-block section of 7th Street is expected to begin in June.

The project will extend about 1,500 feet along the street between Adams and Liberty avenues.

The federal government is providing about $2.5 million for improvements, while the city is contributing about $182,000, said Daniel Gillies, Ogden's traffic engineer.

BRIGHAM CITY — The auto tour route at Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge has been temporarily closed to all visitors because heavy precipitation has created dangerous road conditions.

OGDEN -- State Road 134 (4700 West) has been closed at 2700 South in West Haven due to a collapsed culvert, the Utah Department of Transportation announced this afternoon.

WEST HAVEN — The Utah Department of Transportation advises motorists living in, or with destinations in West Weber County, that state 4700 West has been closed at 2700 South in West Haven due to a collapsed culvert.

UDOT: Lane closures tonight on I-15 in NSL

OGDEN -- Utah Department of Transportation is advising motorists to expect lane closures on northbound I-15 late tonight, Jan. 4, in North Salt Lake.

In a news release, UDOT spokesman Vic Saunders states that crews will close two lanes tonight on northbound I-15 at Mile Marker 313 in North Salt Lake, beginning at 11 p.m. The closure is being undertaken to accommodate work associated with a petroleum pipeline being placed under the interstate highway at that point. The closure will end at 5 a.m.
