2 climbers rescued in Utah's Rock Canyon

PROVO -- Authorities say two climbers were rescued with scrapes and bruises after they became stuck during a rappel down a 350-foot cliff in a canyon east of Brigham Young University.

Provo police say a mountain rescue team finally reached 23-year-old Dan Walsh of Salt Lake City and 22-year-old Sean Burton of Draper on Wednesday evening.

The Daily Herald of Provo reports rescuers responding to a call for help about 5:40 p.m. found the pair suspended on the face of a popular Rock Canyon climbing area duubbed "Bad Bananas."

Police say the two were on opposite ends of one rope using a single anchor point.

Rescuers used a second rope system to reach the men and bring them to the ground.
