OGDEN -- A 16-year-old walked away unhurt from a rollover accident on Interstate 84 around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.
The teen was heading toward Ogden from Morgan in the fast lane when he dropped something on the floor of his older model four-door BMW, Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Michael Pope said.
He started veering left, then overcorrected and crossed both lanes of traffic, going off the right shoulder and knocking down two field fences around Mile Marker 87. Pope said the vehicle hit an embankment and rolled over.
The car ended up about 50 to 75 yards from the Weber River, Pope said. If the accident happened any sooner, the driver would have ended up in the river.
The accident is still under investigation.
