OGDEN -- The Weber County Republican Women just made Selaina Brinkerhoff's life a little easier.

Brinkerhoff, a Weber State University junior majoring in political science, is the winner of the organization's $300 book scholarship. The money will help her purchase some of the expensive books needed for the classroom.

The scholarship was presented on Monday afternoon during the Weber County Republican Women Caring for America luncheon.

"Everyone gives scholastic scholarships so we wanted to do something a little different," said RoLayne Staffanson, a member of the organization. "Books are expensive so we decided we wanted to help a female political science major obtain some of her books."
