Davis County Sherrif gets specialized Humvee for mountain rescues

FARMINGTON — To get to those hard-to-reach mountainous places for emergency search and rescue and medical care, the Davis County Sheriff’s Office is receiving a surplus Humvee on loan from the military.

The 1990 model, with only 40,000 miles on it, is valued at $46,000, said Davis County Sheriff’s Sgt. Susan Poulsen.

On Tuesday, the Davis County Commission accepted the donation from the federal government, and approved the $1,018 transaction fee in making the donation possible.

Rescuer, snowmobiler killed when copter crashes
