Women can register now for self-defense class in Ogden

OGDEN — Your Community Connection now is accepting registration for free introductory self-defense demonstration classes for women.

Self-defense course for women Saturday

LAYTON -- A self-defense course for women is scheduled for Saturday at Gold's Gym in Layton. The course, sponsored by the Kiwanis Club, will be from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the gym at Fort Lane and Gentile Street.

The course is $25 per adult -- less $5 for those who bring a friend. The course is $15 for high school and junior high school students.

Presenters and instructors will be Nick and Mike Zeleznik, with MP USA in Ogden.

The course, limited to 70 participants, is designed to teach women how to protect themselves and increase their self-confidence.

OGDEN -- James Linford is about 15 years older than the person he found in his house when he arrived home Tuesday morning, but that didn't stop Linford from giving the intruder what he had coming to him.
