Two Top of Utah nonprofits are among those to recently receive grants from the Daniels Fund. The Box Elder Community Pantry in Brigham City and Your Community Connection of Ogden were among several Utah nonprofit organizations serving youth, seniors, the disabled and the homeless to be among the recipients of $193,370 in grants.
Major recipients include: Boy Scouts of America, Utah National Parks Council; Family Support Center of Southwestern Utah; Girls Scouts of Utah; and The Road Home.
"These nonprofits are highly effective at providing vital services to the most vulnerable members of our communities," said Linda Childears, president and CEO of the Daniels Fund.
The program areas eligible for grants through the Daniels Fund include: aging, alcoholism and substance abuse, amateur sports, disabilities, education, homeless and disadvantaged, and youth development.
Bill Daniels, a pioneer in cable television who owned the American Basketball Association's Utah Stars, established the Daniels Fund.
