(BETH SCHLANKER/ Standard-Examiner) Kimberlee Williams Arigot, 41, of Syracuse, with her defense attorney Ryan Bushell, is sentenced Wednesday to a year in jail for four third-degree felonies, one count of unlawful sexual activity with a minor, two counts of unlawful conduct with a 16-17 year old and one count of dealing harmful material to a minor, during a hearing at the 2nd District Court in Farmington.

1 year in jail for Syracuse woman / Arigot admits to having sex with three teenage boys

FARMINGTON -- A 41-year-old Syracuse woman was sentenced to serve one year in Davis County Jail for having sex with three teenage boys.

"I do take full responsibility for my choices and actions," Kimberlee Williams Arigot said as she choked back tears. "I do not blame anyone else."

Arigot appeared Wednesday before 2nd District Court Judge David M. Connors for sentencing in a courtroom packed with family and friends. She had pleaded guilty on Sept. 30 to three counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor and one count of dealing in materials harmful to a minor, all third-degree felonies. Originally, she had been charged with eight third-degree felonies.

Connors said at the sentencing he is aware of "a rash of highly publicized situations," like Arigot's case, but he does not take gender into account before sentencing.

Connors suspended four terms of zero to five years at Utah State Prison and sentenced her to serve one year in jail beginning at 9 a.m. Monday and three years of probation with Adult Probation and Parole.

He also allowed her to have contact with her children as long as counselors agree to it.

"I note there are multiple victims," Connors said. He also noted the incidents occurred over a three- to four-month period, which gave Arigot opportunities to "walk away."

"I don't doubt the defendant has every intention of never allowing this to happen again," Connors said.

Syracuse Police Sgt. Heath Rogers, who investigated the case, said after the hearing, "I think the sentence was fair."

Defense attorney Ryan Bushell said when Arigot came into his office, "the story she told left my jaw open."

Arigot had no previous criminal record and got "caught up in making a terrible, terrible mistake," he said.

"She knows what she did is wrong and the guilt is eating her up," Bushell said.

He said Syracuse police had asked Arigot to meet with them a year ago because of nude photographs of her that had been text-messaged to an 18-year-old high school student. Those photographs had then been circulated among underage teenage boys.

"When the police asked her, 'Do you know why you are here?' she told them about more serious offenses they did not know about," Bushell said. "She gave a full confession."

Deputy Davis County Attorney Richard Larsen said even though Arigot had been cooperative in the beginning, as time has progressed, she has regressed and downplayed her role.

"The year in jail is absolutely an appropriate sentence," Larsen said.

"Something needs to be done to get her attention."

Woman sentenced to one year in jail for sex with teenage boys

FARMINGTON -- Kimberlee Williams Arigot, 41, of Syracuse, was sentenced to serve one year in a Davis County jail for four counts of third degree felonies in connection with having sex with teenage boys.

Arigot was accused of having sex with a 15-year-old boy between 2008 and August 2009. She was also accused of having sexual intercourse with a 17-year-old male in Clearfield, according to court documents.

In October, Arigot agreed to a plea deal. In exchange for her plea deal, Davis County prosecutors dismissed five other felony counts of dealing in material harmful to a minor.

These are not "poor boys"

I do not condone what this woman did, at all.   She is a criminal, and deserves to suffer the consequences.
BUT...
Gentle Jim, the boys are not at all traumatized.  They are bragging to all of the kids at school.  These are teenage boys, who knew dang well what they were doing, and are horny little brats.  I had friends who high school who slept with older women and they have never thought twice about it.  Honestly, 16 and 17 year olds are a lot more mature than they used to be, and it does them no more damage having sex with an 18 year old or a 50 year old, it's all wrong, and they made that choice.

Three Teenage Boys

Think about how these three poor boys have been affected for the rest of their lives. The trauma! The unending shame! They will never be able to have normal shameful Mormon sex now without years of indoctrination and counseling. It is time for males to speak out for equal rights and ruin this 'Cougar's game for the rest of her life. Lets make sure she gets on the sexual predators list.
How dare she?! She has created victims that are now in-school celebrities getting high fives every five minutes. It will take a huge amount of resources to convince them that evil has been forced upon them. Utah is the highest child abuse state in the nation- Hmmm-makes you wonder.

arigot

obviuosly all the lurid details have not been publicized, I
believe some over- active hormones and less active braincells
opened the door to these horny teenagers to take advantage of a very morally
weak person. These boys cannot take the blame but they can
certainly share the responsibility for what happened.
I also believe if the perp was a man and the "victims"
were girls it would be  "throw away the key" time

disparity

Does anyone think this level of leniency would be applied if the genders were reversed?
