W. Point man could face federal charges for photos of nude teens

FARMINGTON — A 39-year-old West Point man could be charged federally for having nude pictures of teenagers on his computer and phone, a local prosecutor said.

David Thor Oliver appeared in 2nd District Court on Monday. He is charged with nine counts of second-degree felony sexual exploitation of a minor; three counts of sexual battery, class A misdemeanors; and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, class B misdemeanors.

Man arrested for trading tobacco for nude pictures

WEST POINT — Davis County Sheriff’s detectives are trying to determine whether there are more victims of a man who they said supplied alcohol and tobacco in exchange for nude pictures of teenagers.

Detectives arrested David Thor Oliver, 39, of West Point, on Friday following a report from Child Protective Services regarding abuse. He is being held in Davis County Jail on no bail.

Oliver appeared in 2nd District Court on Monday. Another hearing is set for May 14.
