Snowbasin held their first annual pond skim on Sunday, April 12, 2014 to celebrate the approaching end of the season, now planned for April 20, 2014. A large depression was created near the bottom of City Hill, lined with a tarp, filled with cold water with a few chunks of ice and a couple of duck decoys also thrown in to add ambiance. Approximately 100 skiers and snowboarders participated along with a snow biker, a kayaker and a ski patrol toboggan with most making it safely across the icy waters. Those that did not make it treated the spectators to splash-filled crashes and which made for a chilling scene.

By all accounts so far, a new terrain park for young kids that opened this season at Snowbasin has been a dinosaur-sized success.

Body found at Snowbasin identified, four suspects arrested

West Valley City police say the body recovered Tuesday near Snowbasin Resort is that of Cleat Aaron Knight, 34, and four suspects have been arrested in connection with his kidnapping and death.

SOUTH OGDEN -- A South Ogden family is imploring skiers and snowboarders to exercise caution after a devastating collision with a snowboarder left a mother of five with two broken vertebrae, four broken ribs and a lacerated liver.

Morgan County approves 'Special Resort District' rezone at Snowbasin

MORGAN -- On Tuesday, the Morgan County Council unanimously approved the rezone of 8,140 acres at Snowbasin to "Special Resort District," a new designation that will allow major growth on the mountain over the next 50 years.

Olympic gold-medal skier Picabo Street spoke at a news conference at Snowbasin on Monday to introduce a product called Hookease, which connects the instructor's ski poles to the learner's skis. Hookease was invented by Ogden father Scott Coleman to teach young skiers proper technique.
