Service Dog's Legacy

OGDEN -- Twinkles the service dog blazed a wide trail for people with disabilities in Utah, and her grieving owner, June Robbin Henson, is determined that the beloved pet will not be forgotten.

Social Services money distributed

FARMINGTON -- The Family Connection Center in Clearfield and the Safe Harbor shelter for victims of domestic abuse were each allocated $22,000 as Davis County officials distributed the Social Services Block Grant money.

The county received $112,218 for the 2011-12 fiscal year, said Scott A. Hess, Davis County planner, who oversees the county's grant application process.

Federal squeeze hits Layton social services

LAYTON -- City staff members knew this year's Community Development Block Grant would be less than last year's, so they made a tentative action plan with cuts to certain areas.
