Centerville approves a special event

CENTERVILLE -- Despite initial concerns of how large commercial events might impact the parks department, the city council opted to grant approval for a special event.

A business, Pirate and Princess Parties, asked to use Community Park on a Saturday in June for a carnival event to promote the business. It will include activities for children and a number of vendors selling food items.

Centerville code prohibits commercial activities in parks unless approved by the city council.
