SALT LAKE CITY -- Updates from the Utah State-Utah football game Thursday night at Rice-Eccles Stadium:
Final score: No. 19 Utah 35, Utah State 17
While Utah fans were buys worrying about who would start at quarterback (that would be Terrance Cain), the Aggies showed off their new offense. USU took the opening kick and moved 7 plays down to the Utes' goal line. USU settled for a 29-yard Chris Ulinski field goal. 3-0 USU at the 11:40 mark.
Cain started at QB, but on the second place, Utah running back Matt Asiata fumbled the ball and USU recovered.
Utah State missed a 48-yard field goal.
Utah scores on a 65-yard TD pass from Cain to David Reed. Utah leads 7-3.
Utah scores again as Cain hits David Peel for a 22-yard TD pass. 14-3.
But right back come the Aggies on Robert Turbin's 96-yard TD blast. 14-10 with 5 minutes to go in the first quarter.

As the second quarter begins, Asiata blasts in from the 2 for the TD and a 21-10 Utah lead.
Utah's Matt Martinez blocks a Peter Caldwell punt out of the back of the end zone, 23-10.
Then Ben Vroman kicks a 44-yard field goal, 26-10.
Just before halftime, Cain tosses an interception and the Aggies respond with a short TD plunge. Diondre Borel's score came on a 2-yard run.
26-17 at the halftime.

The teams have settle down to a scoreless battle so far in the second half. Utah had over 300 yards in total offense, but the Aggies tallied 222.
After a couple of drives, the Utes up the lead to 33-17 on Asiata's 1-yard plunge.
The Aggies are moving the ball, but have not found the end zone after halftime.
Score is 33-17 after three quarters. Utes have rolled up 457 yards of total offense; Aggies are at 271.

No scoring until the final minutes of the final quarter when Utah secures another safety. The Aggies battle hard to the end, but cannot get into the end zone.
