OGDEN -- Weber State senior Chelsea Bair was named to the Big Sky First Team All-Conference Team and senior Caitlyn Anderson received honorable mention honors, the Big Sky announced Thursday night with the release of the all-conference Team.
It marks the third consecutive year in which Weber State has placed a player on the all-conference first team.
Bair finished her career at Weber State as one of the top players in school history. This season she played in all 109 sets for the Wildcats and led the team in kills and aces and was second in digs. She ranks third in the conference in kills at 3.59 per set and is also third in points and is fourth in aces.
Bair posted double digits in kills in each of WSU's last 18 matches and did so 23 times this season and 94 times in her career. She had 10 or more kills in all but one of WSU's 16 Big Sky matches this season. The Provo native also posted 52 career double-doubles, including 11 this season.
Bair appeared in 128 career matches at Weber State and ranks in the WSU career top 10 in seven categories. She is second all-time in kills, second in digs, second in attacks, second in sets played, third in kills average, third in aces, and seventh in matches played. She also ranks fifth in Big Sky history in career kills with 1,666. She is one of seven players in Weber State history with 1,000 career kills and 1,000 career digs.
This is her fourth Big Sky all-conference honor but the first time she has been named to the first team. Bair is just the eighth Wildcat to ever be named to the All-Big Sky first team, but it marks the third straight year a Wildcat has made the first team. Micah Lines received the honor in 2007 and Brittney Bisaillion in 2008.
Anderson earned All-Big Sky honors for the first time in her career as she received honorable mention. This season Anderson was one of three Wildcats to play in every set. She averaged a team-best 2.82 digs per set, recording 307 digs on the season. She also averaged 1.81 kills per set which was third best on the team.
Anderson played in 125 career matches at Weber State and is WSU's all-time leader in career digs. She holds the WSU career, single-season, and individual match records for most digs. She missed just one set in her entire four year career at Weber State, which finished 8-21 this season, 5-11 in Big Sky play.
Nique Fradella of Portland State was named the Big Sky Most Valuable Player after leading the Vikings to the Big Sky regular-season title.
