Warriors ride Adams to send Lakers packing

SLIDESHOW: Weber High vs Bonneville High

PLEASANT VIEW -- The Warriors owned the fourth quarter, and consequently, sent the Bonneville Lakers packing after a 45-34 Weber win on Tuesday night in non-league boys basketball action at Conolly Gym.

Dallin Adams scored 21 points and added 11 rebounds to go along with three steals, while Jake Oberg tallied 10 points and Davie Daines added eight for the Warriors.

"I'm really proud of the way we battled," Weber coach Chad Sims said. "They made a run at us in the third quarter, but we answered in the fourth.

"I think winning the rebounding battle was big," Sims said.

Trevor Bingham helped Weber control the boards with 10 rebounds, as the Warriors enjoyed a 35-20 edge.

Weber outscored the visiting Lakers by nine in the second quarter, taking a 24-16 edge at the break.

But Bonneville refused to give up, drawing to within 30-26 after three quarters.

The Warriors helped their cause with a 16-of-21 effort from the free-throw line.

Jordan Tesch and Thadius Galvez led the Lakers with nine points each, while Brady Borkland added six points and seven boards.

"Bonneville plays that strong matchup zone, and they are very difficult to play against," Sims said. "Dallin got his points at the line and a couple of key 3-pointers."

* FREMONT 52, BOUNTIFUL 34: At Plain City, the Silver Wolves passed their second test, but will have to improve, coach Corey Melaney said.

"We won, but that's about it," he said.

Tate Lewis scored 17 points, Patrick Fishburn had 14 points and 10 rebounds, and Jake Nish chipped in with 11 points and nine boards for the 2-0 Silver Wolves.

McKay Lasalle paced Bountiful with a dozen points.

Fremont built a 29-17 edge at halftime and outscored the Braves in all four quarters.

* HILLCREST 39, CLEARFIELD 32: At Clearfield, the Falcons suffered a bit from opening-game jitters, falling to the Huskies in a defensive battle.

Kolton Young led Clearfield with 15 points.

Hillcrest outscored the host Falcons 16-8 in the middle two quarters. Adams led Hillcrest with 13 points.

* SKY VIEW 59, BEAR RIVER 29: At Smithfield, the Bobcats blitzed the Bears 23-4 in the second frame.

Garrett Hinton scored 14 and Brad Lenkersdorfer added 10 for Sky View.

* KEARNS 47, NORTHRIDGE 44: At Kearns, the Cougars came on strong in the final quarter to top the Knights.
