CLEVELAND -- The 55 winners of the 12th annual Football Championship Subdivision Athletics Directors Association Academic All-Star Team were announced by the Football Championship Subdivision Athletics Directors Association this week, with Weber State safety Beau Hadley among the winners.
Hadley also is a finalist for a prestigious postgraduate scholarship.
The winners were announced at the Football Championship Subdivision football championship in Chattanooga, Tenn.
Hadley, a 6-foot, 195-pound senior from Taylor, made the team for the second time in as many years. Hadley carries a perfect 4.00 GPA in technical sales. He is a four-time member of the Big Sky Conference All-Academic team and a two-time first team Academic All-American on the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Football team.
In 44 career games as a Wildcat, Hadley registered 238 total tackles, 124 unassisted. He had 15 career pass deflections and seven career interceptions. He had eight forced fumbles, which ties him for the second most in a career at Weber State, and had three fumble recoveries. Hadley was named first team All-Big Sky, and third team All-America by The Sports Network in 2008, and second team All-Big Sky in 2009.
Additionally, six finalists were selected for the FCS ADA's $5,000 postgraduate scholarship. Two student-athletes will receive postgraduate scholarships during the Association's annual membership meeting held in June at the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics convention.
The other finalists are Josh Cain, Jacksonville State; Brandon Hellevang, North Dakota; Josh Mahoney, Northern Iowa; Andrew Miller, North Dakota; and Chris Rocco, Liberty.
