FRISCO, Texas -- Real Salt Lake is Major League Soccer's hottest team, but how the Utah side will fare under the inferno heat of a Texas summer night is anybody's guess.
Real Salt Lake, on a 10-match unbeaten streak since April 24, takes on FC Dallas tonight at 6:30 p.m. at Pizza Hut Park -- a stadium that is RSL's own House of Horrors.
The Utah side has never won in Dallas, going 0-7-0 all-time and being outscored 16-5 in those matches.
Dallas won last year's late-season meeting 3-0, scorching RSL for two goals in the opening 10 minutes.
Real hopes to turn its fortunes in the Big D, riding the momentum it has gained with three road victories already in 2010.
Coming into this season, RSL had just 10 road wins in franchise history - including just two during its MLS Cup championship campaign last year. Real is 3-3-1 on the road in 2010, going 2-0-1 in their last three outings away from Rio Tinto Stadium.
"It's something we've been working on," said RSL striker Robbie Findley after last week's 1-0 result at Chicago. "We didn't do too well on that last year, and it is one of our goals this year to improve our road record. So far we are doing the right things. Tonight's game wasn't the best soccer, but we got the win and we stuck in there to preserve it."
Temperatures at Pizza Hut Park are expected to be sweltering, with a forecasted high of 101 degrees and 50 percent humidity in Frisco tomorrow evening. The expected conditions led to RSL boss Jason Kreis rationing practice time and giving his team an off-day on Thursday to keep up its fitness and energy level.
