GLENS FALLS, N.Y. -- Tickets are in high demand for Jimmer's return.
No. 18 BYU will play its second of four-straight neutral site games when the Cougars face Vermont on Wednesday, Dec. 8, at 5 p.m. at the Glens Falls Civic Center in Glens Falls, N.Y., the hometown of senior guard Jimmer Fredette.
The Cougars are 8-0 to start the 2010-11 season and coming off a 78-57 win over Hawaii at EnergySolutions Arena in Salt Lake City.
BYU coach Dave Rose and his staff promised Fredette, a preseason all-American, they'd try to arrange a game in New York during the recruiting process, but they didn't anticipate being able to play in Glens Falls.
Vermont is 6-1 this season and has won five straight games.
The Catamounts' only loss was at Connecticut in the second game of the year. Fredette leads BYU with 22.3 points and 4.1 assists per game while Jackson Emery (12.2 ppg) and Noah Hartsock (10.1 ppg) also average double figures.
Evan Fjeld leads Vermont in scoring at 20.9 ppg while shooting .613 from the field. Joey Accaoui and Matt Glass add 13.3 and 11.0 ppg, respectively. Brian Voelkel leads the team with 9.7 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game.
Coach Mike Lonergan is in his sixth season at Vermon, which shoots 49.5 percent from the field and 42.2 percent from 3-point range and averages 73.4 points per game.
