Aggies survive for a wild double-OT victory

HONOLULU -- The Aggies took a little extra time in Hawaii to pick up their WAC victory.

Pushed into double overtime, Brian Green and Brockeith Pane hit big shots for No. 25 Utah State in his 89-84 win over upset-minded Hawaii in action late Saturday night.

Green drilled a long shot that was deemed a 2-pointer to tie the game at 66 in regulation, then bombed a 3-pointer to knot the first overtime at 73-all. In the second overtime, Payne hit a key shot and Green finished off the Rainbow Warriors with late free throws as USU won its 15th straight game on the season, and its 22nd WAC win in a row.

Green finished with 22 points, and added three rebounds, three assists and a steal. Tyler Newbold added 17, Brady Jardine scored 13 and Tai Wesley added 12 before fouling out.

Zane Johnson led Hawaii with 25 points.
