SALT LAKE CITY -- This one could get interesting.
The Utah Blaze host the ArenaBowl champion Spokane Shock tonight at EnergySolutions Arena.
The Blaze (2-2) have been pretty good at home in 2011, but not so on the road. Utah fell to the San Jose SaberCats in their second consecutive road loss last weekend while the Shock kept busy making roster moves during their bye week.
Despite the loss, Utah quarterback Tommy Grady continues to play week, completing 27-of-48 passes for 321 yards, six touchdowns and one interception. The performance keeps him on track to break former Blaze QB Joe Germaine's record of passing for over 300 yards in five consecutive games.
Aaron Boone led the receiving corp with 11 receptions for 147 yards and three touchdowns. DB William Mulder led the defense with 7.5 total tackles.
Blaze offensive coordinator Matthew Sauk helped the Shock to their Arena Bowl XXIII victory over the Tampa Bay Storm in 2010. Sauk, a former Utah State quarterback and af2 Hall of Famer, helped Spokane to a record-breaking season, one Utah hopes it will achieve in the years to come.
Current Shock QB Kyle Rowley has completed 100 passes out of 155 attempts, tallying 1198 yards and 25 touchdowns this season. WR Greg Orton is a rookie currently leading the team with 28 receptions, tallying 425 yards and ten receiving touchdowns.
