EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- The Minnesota Vikings have taken Utah cornerback Brandon Burton in the fifth round of the NFL draft.
Burton was a two-year starter with the Utes. He intercepted two passes and had 51 tackles last season. He'll add depth to a secondary that struggled with injuries last season.
The Vikings started Saturday by taking Iowa defensive tackle Christian Ballard in the fourth round.
The Vikings took quarterback Christian Ponder in the first round on Thursday and Notre Dame tight end Kyle Rudolph in the second round on Friday. They did not have a third-round pick because they traded it to New England for Randy Moss.
The Vikings have seven picks on the final day of the draft, including two in the fifth, sixth and seventh rounds.
