Exercising the senses: Discover the mysteries of hiking in the dark

It's no secret that spring and fall are ideal times to visit Southern Utah.

In the spring, the canyons are bursting with life, and the greenery stands in beautiful contrast to the red-rock desert surroundings. In the fall, bright yellow cottonwood leaves create a similarly beautiful contrast.

Both seasons bring ideal temperatures to the region, with warm days and cool nights.

In between are the hot summer months, when midday temperatures often stretch well into triple digits. Unless you're playing in the water or deep in a shaded canyon, summer days can be too hot to spend the whole day hiking, biking, or doing just about any strenous activity.Story:
