OGDEN -- Perhaps coach St. Joseph coach Derek Tate didn't get too worried after a scoreless opening half on Saturday in the state 2-A boys soccer quarterfinals.
The Jayhawks had fallen behind a couple of times in the late-season but still found a way to earn a win.
Or maybe he worried just enough to wake his squad up.
The Jayhawks won their eighth straight matching, scoring a pair after halftime for a 2-0 win over Oakley and a berth in next week's semifinals.
David Donlevy scored a pair of goals and Mitch Koehler notched another impressive shutout to boost St. Joseph into a semifinal matchup on Region 14 champion South Summit set for Friday at 11:30 a.m. at Jordan High School.
The winner earns a trip to the state final, set for 1 p.m. on Saturday at Rio Tinto Stadium.
The Jayhawks improved to 9-5-1 on the season.
South Summit topped Gunnison 1-1, advancing on penalty kicks in a shootout. Waterford and Rowland Hall will meet in the other semifinal.
