SOUTH JORDAN -- With Sirene Blair going low, the Bingham Miners had the state 5-A girls golf title wrapped up.
But the Weber Warriors finished their 2011 season in style as well, topping the rest of the field by nine strokes to finish second in Thursday's 18-hole finale at Glenmoor Golf Course.
With super seniors Tara Green and Erin Barker leading the way, the Warriors finished with 224 points under the stableford scoring system, with Alta at 215 and Layton (205) and Davis (200) rounding out the top five.
Bingham tallied 233.
"It's their home course, they're familiar with it," Weber coach Bart Poll said of Bingham. "But we are so happy with how the girls played. . Happy with how the girls played. I take my hat off to Tara and Erin and what they've accomplished in four years."
Blair, the defending 5-A champion, shot 4-under par 68. Green, playing in the same group, made three birdies on the back nine to shoot a 73. Her 40-foot birdie putt at No. 14 may have been the shot of the tournament.
"It was a great competition. They're good friends," Poll said.
Davis' Carly Oldrody shot 84 to finish fifth overall, a shot ahead of Layton's Haley Dunn. Barker was three shots back, whil Layton's Melissa Hadfield finished 10th with a 93 to round out the all-staters.
Baileigh Woodland (101) and Haylee Chugg (106) rounded out the Warriors' scoring.
Fremont finished 10th as a team, paced by Sadie Craner's 98.
3-A tournament
At West Jordan's Mountain View Golf Course, Desert Hills posted an impress 238 to win the state 3-A girls title.
Delta (213) and Region 11 champion Judge Memorial (211) finished as runners-up.
Morgan finished 11th overall, led by Emily Ballantyne's 98. Ben Lomond was 15th, paced by Karli Yazzie's 105. Bear River finished 16th, topped by Kenzie Williams' 103.
Desert Hills' Brooke Bliss fired a 78 for a five-shot win over Judge Memorial's Madi Rooker. Desert Hills golfers locked into the next four spots in the standings.
