Box Elder's Jensen signs with Wildcats

OGDEN -- Weber State women's golf coach Jeff Smith recently announced the signing of Kristie Jensen from Box Elder High to a letter of intent.

"Kristie is a talented player in multiple sports, and we are very happy to have her joining our program," Smith said.

Jensen was the No. 2 golfer for the Bees starting in her freshman season, and led the team the past two years. As a junior and a senior, she earned all-state honors, placing fourth at the state tournament both years.

Jensen also played tennis, and was the Bees' No. 1 singles player all four years, earning Academic All-State in both sports.

Dixie State adds Diaz to golf team

Dixie State College men's golf coach Reed McArthur announced the signing of Bonneville High's Greg Diaz to a letter of intent last week.

Diaz was a four-year letterman, earning first team all-region honors his sophomore, junior and senior seasons. During his sophomore and junior campaigns, he finished third individually at the state 4-A tournament. As a senior, he earned all-state honors and captained the Lakers to the team title. He was also named scholar athlete of the year at Bonneville.

Westminster signs Phelps in soccer

The Westminster men's soccer team has signed another 10 recruits, including Austin Phelps out of Viewmont High School.

Phelps is a 5-foot-9 midfielder, who scored one goal during the team's 16-1-2 season and an appearance in the state 5-A semifinals.
