Utah State gives basketball coaches new contracts

LOGAN -- Utah State basketball coach Stew Morrill has a new contract to head the Aggies program for the next six years.

The school also says women's basketball coach Raegan Pebley has signed a five-year contract extension.

Both coaches are the winningest in school history.

“We are delighted that Stew and Raegan will continue leading our programs for many years to come,” said athletic director Stu Barnes.
“Two things I’ve said since I arrived at Utah State is that it’s a privilege to coach here and that this will be my last coaching job, and 13 years later I feel stronger than ever about both statements,” said Morrill.  “I want to thank Scott Barnes and President Stan Albrecht for giving me and our staff the continued security of a long-term contract.”

Morrill has a 324-103 record in 13 seasons. He has been named Coach of the Year in the Western Athletic Conference the past three seasons. He led Utah State to a record 30-4 mark this season and to its third straight NCAA tourney appearance.

Pebley led Utah State to its first postseason appearance in 20 years this season as the Aggies advanced to the second round of the Women's National Invitation Tournament.
